Internal Medicine Nursing Department Master's Program was established in 2021 within Düzce University Institute of Health Sciences. The program consists of theoretical and practical courses covering 4 semesters (2 years) and thesis study. Students who successfully complete at least 21 credits of courses and a master's thesis graduate from the program as a science specialist.

It is aimed to train nurses who are specialized in the prevention, treatment, care and rehabilitation of acute and chronic internal diseases, follow scientific developments and innovations and use them in care, adopt lifelong learning principles, gain critical thinking skills and scientific understanding.

[] Admission Requirements

To have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

To meet the application requirements of Düzce University Graduate Education and Training Regulations and Graduate Education Institute.

[] Course's Contrubution To Program

The total ECTS credits of the program is 120. Students who meet the ECTS credits required for graduation and the minimum course requirements can graduate from the master's program in at least three semesters. After the thesis exam is completed, the jury decides to accept, reject or correct the thesis with absolute majority. The student, whose thesis is decided to be corrected, completes the corrections within three months at the latest and defends his thesis again in front of the same jury.

[] Recognition of Prior Learning

Successful students who have studied at least one semester in graduate programs of the University or other higher education institutions can apply for transfer to another graduate program at the University. In order for the applications to be accepted; There must be quotas for master's, doctorate / proficiency in art students in the relevant department / discipline, the student must have met the conditions for admission to graduate programs and must have received the success grades specified in subparagraph (c) of the second paragraph of Article 24 of this Regulation from each of the courses he / she has taken at least one semester of graduate education and must have achieved the required general academic averages. The adjustment of the students whose transfer is deemed appropriate is made by the decision of the institute board of directors upon the recommendation of the head of the department.

Students cannot transfer from non-thesis master's programs to master's programs with thesis.

Only students who are in the course-taking phase can apply for transfer to the graduate education programs of the university.

[] Description of Program

Internal Medicine Nursing Master's Program will contribute to the development and deepening of knowledge in the field of internal medicine nursing at the level of expertise, transforming the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired at the level of expertise into behavior, strengthening evidence-based nursing practices, as well as contributing to the protection and promotion of health. In addition, it aims to provide the student with the knowledge and skills for the physiopathology, risk factors, prevention principles, diagnosis, treatment, care, patient education and rehabilitation of diseases seen in adulthood and old age, as well as the ability to analyze questions requiring expertise by using scientific research methods.

2 Integrates the knowledge in the field of internal medicine nursing with information from different disciplines and interprets, analyzes and synthesizes it to create new information.
3 Plans, implements, reports and presents/publishes researches that will produce solutions to problems related to the field of internal medicine nursing
4 Uses statistical software in the field of health effectively, selects, calculates and interprets statistical methods correctly.
5 Proposes solutions to existing problems requiring expertise in internal medicine nursing, solves problems by taking responsibility and evaluates the results.
6 Adopts the principles of personal development and lifelong learning related to internal medicine nursing.
7 Analyzes a scientific article published in the field of health, follows evidence-based practices, conducts research that will create evidence in its field related to professional practices.
8 Analyze concepts and theories that support evidence-based research and advanced nursing practice and use them in nursing care.
9 To be able to systematically discuss and share their knowledge, current developments and their own studies in the field of health in written or oral form in national and international scientific meetings in or outside the same field.

Our graduates can work as clinical nurses, executive nurses and academicians in universities in public and private hospitals in clinics suitable for their specialization.

[] Program Structure

The master program is conducted by Surgical Nursing department's faculty. The students registered to this program, have to get at least 21 national and 120 ECTS credits during 2 years (4 semesters). The students should choose elective courses inside and outside the department. All the courses in master program are for each semester. The students complete all the courses in two semesters and start thesis study in third semester.

[] Examinations, Assessment and Grading

Evaluation and grading are made according to Düzce University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations.


Midterm exams can be given in courses. Projects, homework, laboratories, workshops and similar studies conducted during the semester can also replace midterm exams. The general exam of a course is held at the end of the semester in which that course is completed. Students who do not take the general exam are given a grade of FF. The excuse exam can be used instead of midterm and general exams. The student, whose excuse is accepted with the decision of the academic department board, uses the midterm exam rights within the same semester; uses the general exam rights within one month from the end of the general exams.


Success in a course is determined by the course success grade. The course success grade is obtained by evaluating the student's success in studies such as midterm exams, applied studies, homework assignments and the general exam together. The effect of in-semester evaluations on the course grade can be at most 50%. In order to be considered successful in a course, graduate students must have at least 70.

[] Graduation Requirements

The student who completes all the courses available in the program, successfully completes the master's thesis within the maximum period of time, submits all the relevant information and documents specified in Section 3, Article 10 of Düzce University Graduate Education and Training Regulations to the institute and is deemed appropriate for graduation by the institute provides the necessary qualification for graduation. The maximum duration of the program is completed in at least three semesters and at most six semesters, starting from the semester in which the courses are given.
