Düzce University's Department of Physiology was established in 1992 within the Faculty of Medicine of Abant Izzet Baysal University. Our Faculty of Medicine continued its education and training under the newly established Düzce University with the law numbered 5467 in 2006. Since its establishment, our department has been conducting postgraduate (master's) education programs in the field of Medical Physiology.
The Physiology Master's Programme is carried out within Düzce University's Institute of Health Sciences and within the framework of relevant regulations. The aim of the Medical Physiology Master's program is to train science experts in the field of medical physiology who have a certain knowledge and skill accumulation, who have gained the ability to conduct scientific research, access information, evaluate and interpret information, and possess the ethical and social qualities of universal scientists. In addition to coursework, seminars, and practical studies, students pursuing a master's degree prepare a thesis. The duration of the master's program is 2 years.
Graduates of the Physiology Master's Programme can take part in academic staff positions in the Departments of Physiology of the Faculties of Medicine at all universities. They can carry out projects in the field of health in public institutions or the private sector. They can also continue their studies in various universities or research units abroad, like some of our graduates.
In our department, studies on cardiovascular system physiology, blood physiology, smooth muscle physiology, endocrine system physiology, electrophysiology, neurophysiology, and gastrointestinal system physiology are carried out.
The language of graduate education programs is Turkish.
To train medical physiology specialists who possess knowledge in the field of general medical physiology, literature knowledge on at least one research topic, and laboratory skills at an international level, and who embody the ethical and social qualities of a universal scientist.

Services must be. The satisfaction of the application rules of Institute
of Health Sciences for postgraduate education at Duzce University must be.
The same rules of application are applicable to international students.
Students studying master's with thesis are required:
• To take 7 courses and enroll in the Seminar
course and Master’s thesis, and complete 120 ECTS. To get at least a grade of
CB in order to be successful in each course of the program,
• To have 3.00 general average grade out of 4.00
on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Seminar course and
Master’s thesis defense.

The aim of Master of Science program in medical physiology is to graduate fellows who have certain knowledge and skills, can make scientific research, can access to information, have the ability to evaluate and comment the information, have the certain ethical and social values as a global scientist in their field. A thesis study is prepared by the student of Master of Science besides the followings; lecture, seminar and application studies. The duration of education is 4 half semesters (2 years). First two half year are lecture section and then, next two half year are thesis section.

Graduates of the Master's Programme in Physiology may join the academic staff of university departments of physiology or apply for doctoral programmes. They may continue their studies at various universities or research units within the country or abroad.
Next Qualification Awarded: Doctorate
All mandatory lectures of Master of Science program in physiology are taken from the department. The ratio of elective lectures is 50%. If it is needed, the lectures can be taken from other departments. Mandatory credit point to take is 24. According to European Credit Transfer System; mandatory and elective lectures that give at least 60 credits, and the specific subject lectures needed for thesis study that give at least 60 credits are necessary. Program lectures are theoretical and practical. Elective lectures are given after first semester. The student in Master of Science program prepares a thesis study in addition to lecture, seminar and practical studies. The duration of education is 4 half semesters (2 years). First two half semesters are lecture section and then, next two half semesters are thesis section. The student carries out the lecture period under the advisement of a faculty member, and conducts the thesis period under the advisement of at least a faculty member. The attendance is mandatory for theoretical and practical lectures.
