[] About Program
Emerging as a separate discipline after the First World War; International Relations, which initially regarded states as the only and main actor of the international arena and examined the interstate relations in this direction; With the effect of the globalization phenomenon, it has become an important field and a rising department in a short time. This department, which is sensitive to the developments in the international arena, has become multidimensional with new actors emerging in the international arena and new topics that have been put on the agenda. Increasing the communication of states and societies with each other in the political, economic, cultural and legal fields between 1970-80, the existence of international organizations trying to regulate state behavior from various perspectives, the emergence of terrorist groups trying to organize similarly if they do not have a state structure and are not recognized as a state. phenomena such as the existence of global problems (such as depletion of natural resources, environmental pollution, human rights, climate change) that concern the entire world; As it points to the globalization process, it also points to the need for individuals who have the capacity to make sense of this new process and resolve the problems that arise in this process. The International Relations Master's program aims to raise individuals who can analyze internationally, politically, socially, economically, sociologically and legally, and produce solutions through these analyzes.

International Relations Master Program with Thesis aims to raise successful individuals who are able to analyze politically, socially, economically, sociologically and legally at international level and produce solutions through these analyzes, knowing the world today and preparing for tomorrow.

[] Objectives
The goal of this program is; to become a pioneering program in the development of this social science and training of qualified scientists at the regional level and across the country by producing qualified master theses and academic publications in the Department of International Relations.

Students who successfully complete the program are eligible for a Master's Degree in International Relations.

This program is a graduate level teaching program.

- Students must have received at least 60 from ALES.
- The minimum total score to be obtained must be 55 out of 100.
- Students who do not take any of the Science Exam or Interview will be consider invalid.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
Students studying master's with thesis are required:
- To take 7 courses and enroll in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis, and complete 120 ECTS. To get at least a grade of CB in order to be successful in each course of the program,
- To have 3.00 general average grade out of 4.00 on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis defense.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.

Recognition of Education Abroad

DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.

Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.

In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.

At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.
[] Description of Program
The curriculum of the International Relations Master's program is designed to gain basic concepts and theories of international relations and then to specialize. The program will include mainly Regional Studies in relation to Turkish Foreign Policy and Turkish Foreign Policy. Students participating in the program can work and specialize in areas such as Regional Research, Energy Policies, Security, European Union, Migration Studies, International Relations Theories, Turkish Foreign Policy, Diplomacy. Course distribution and contents are designed in accordance with the conditions and agenda of today's world. This program, whose academic qualities are at the forefront, is a social science program that has close contacts with Political Science, Sociology, Economics and Law.

1 They can understand the basic concepts and theoretical knowledge in the field of International Relations and have a thorough grasp of their details.
2 They may possess and apply knowledge in international relations, political history, law, international law, economics, public administration, business administration, and accounting—skills sought after in qualified professionals by both the public and private sectors.
3 Can analyze and evaluate theoretical knowledge in the field of international relations and generate solutions.
4 By taking on responsibilities in projects related to the field of international relations, they can plan and carry them out independently.
5 With a commitment to lifelong learning and a spirit of inquiry, they can develop and share alternative solutions in the field of international relations.
6 Can evaluate the information gained during the learning process using cause-and-effect relationships; can anticipate where, when, and why specific information will be needed.
7 They can translate knowledge and practices related to the field of international relations into activities through teamwork and share them.
8 Possesses proficiency in written and oral communication in Turkish; is able to use at least one foreign language at a level sufficient to communicate in their field.
9 Is mindful of social, scientific, and professional ethical values and is open to change and innovation.
10 They can articulate and develop their views on current developments in the field of International Relations and apply them to the analysis of events.

[] Professional Profile of Graduates
With this program, it is aimed to provide the qualified humanpower that needs the public and private sector. A specialist workforce on foreign policy and foreign affairs will be trained primarily in the public sector, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, universities and think tanks. Graduates can undertake public duties such as civilian supervisors, administrative judges, inspectors, specialists and auditors. Graduates who want to continue their doctoral education can choose the path to make an academic career starting with a research assistant.

Day after day with more integration into the global system, qualified manpower is needed in many areas of the private sector. Graduates of the program, can work especially in the private sector institutions which is dealing with foreign trade, organized and operating at a global level such as International Banking and Logistics, tourism businesses, public relations areas etc. Depending on which area they prefer to specialize within the scope of International Relations, graduates can also be employed in non-governmental organizations or international organizations organized in their chosen field.


[] The Upper Stage of a Transition
Students who have graduated from this program can apply to Higher Education Institutions providing doctoral education in the field of International Relations in order to obtain a doctorate degree.
[] Program Structure
Program, Department Head, Assistant Department Head and Coordinator of ECTS operates through coordinated work.
Courses, each course, which is responsible for the relevant criteria specified by the Instructor and teaching methods are processed in the framework.
Students take courses in the second semester, two semesters are also Master Thesis Prepared.
Specialization courses with Master's Thesis is well taken.
Thesis students who completed the program successfully and approved by the Institute is completed.
