[] About Program

The purpose of the Electrical Program is to train qualified technical personnel who have gained professional competencies to respond to the demands and developments of the sector in the field of electrical technology. Education is provided both theoretically and practically. Graduates of the Electrical Program receive the title of "Electrical Technician". In addition to theoretical knowledge, Electrical Program students have the opportunity to gain field-specific work experience by working full-time in businesses for a semester with the +1 Education Model.

PEA1: To train graduates who have basic knowledge and skills in electrical circuits, electromechanical systems and energy transmission-distribution fields, who understand and apply applications in the sector.

PEA2: To train individuals who have technical knowledge in electrical installations, automation systems and energy management, who can develop projects and implement applications in these fields.

PEA3: To train graduates who are prone to teamwork, have developed communication skills, are committed to professional ethical values ​​and work in accordance with occupational health and safety rules.

PEA4: To train individuals who have a continuous learning awareness, can follow technological developments, can follow innovations in the professional field with foreign language knowledge and can continue their professional development.

It aims to provide the necessary infrastructure and support for our students to adapt to constantly changing technologies and to grow up as experts with the competencies to meet the needs of businesses.

[] Admission Requirements
The admissions of students to the programs are made according to the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM – University entrance exam) within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC). After students inform the Student Selection and Placement Center about what programs they want to study at, students are placed in the related programs according to their scores they got from the exam. Graduates of related vocational high schools can enroll in the department within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC).

Foreign students are admitted to the related programs with the scores of internationally acceptable exams such as SAT, ACT or are admitted to the related programs with their high school graduation grades (Undergraduate and Graduate Programs for Foreign Students Admission Guidelines).

The admission of students of General Academic Exchange Protocol to the related programs are done within the framework of the bilateral agreements (ERASMUS, FARABI, etc) signed between Duzce University and the partner universities. Guest students may enroll into the courses in this program, if the related academic unit approves. Sufficient language knowledge is required to monitor the program.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
To complete the available courses in the program (a total of 120 ECTS) successfully, the students have to get at least 50 points out of 100 and required to achieve 2.00 on a 4.00 weighted grade point average. To graduate from the programs students should get at least DD in all of the courses provided.Students are also required to complete the compulsory practice in the specified time.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.

Recognition of Education Abroad

DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.

Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.

In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.

At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

The objective of the Electric Programme is to train highly-educated qualified technicians who are open to change and development, who are self-confident and problem solvers, who are equipped with professional knowledge and skills, and who are highly sought-after in the sector.

6 The student can present his/her thoughts effectively and express them clearly through written and oral communication at the level of knowledge and skills.
7 Takes responsibility as a team member to solve unforeseen and complex problems encountered in applications related to the student field.
8 The student is aware of career management and lifelong learning.
9 The student has social, scientific, cultural and ethical values ​​in the stages of collecting data related to his/her field, applying it and announcing the results.
10 The student follows the knowledge in his/her field and communicates with her colleagues using a foreign language.
11 The student explains the basic concepts of electrical technology and energy production and performs mathematical calculations related to his/her field.
12 The student applies the topics of command-control systems.
13 The student designs electrical installations.
14 The student defines testing, maintenance and repair work in accordance with the standards.

[] Professional Profile of Graduates
Graduates of the Electrical Program are employed in many areas related to their profession in the public and private sectors and can start their own businesses. Graduates can work in production units in factories producing electrical equipment, in power plants, in electricity distribution companies, in electrical maintenance and fault units in factories, and in the marketing and sales departments of electrical companies.

Students who graduate from this program can transfer to undergraduate programs in Computer Engineering, Computer and Instructional Technologies Education, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Energy Management, Physics, Physics Engineering, Aviation Electrics and Electronics, Control and Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Meteorology Engineering, Aircraft Electrics and Electronics, Space Sciences and Technologies, Space Engineering and Software Engineering, in accordance with the specified rules.
[] Program Structure
The number of ECTS credits that students must complete in order to graduate from the Electrical Program is determined as 30 for each term, totaling 120. Of the courses that students are required to take, 27 ECTS are elective courses and 22 ECTS are "IME2101 Vocational Training in Business" course, which is evaluated as full-time work in businesses during one semester of the 2nd year.

[] Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the Electrical Program, the national credit amount that students must complete and the ECTS credit amount is determined as 120 in total, 30 for each term. The duration of the Electrical Program is 2 years and 4 terms. Students must attend and successfully complete all courses in the curriculum and complete all studies included in the Regulation and other relevant legislation. In addition, students must successfully complete 70 working days of vocational training in business in order to graduate. Students must have a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and complete all other studies.
