[] Examinations, Assessment and Grading

(1) The graduate education plans of the Institute’s main fields of study (EABD/EASD) specify the compulsory/elective courses, thesis, seminar, and other similar requirements, as well as the total number of credits required for graduation from the graduate program. These education plans are discussed and approved in accordance with the minimum content determined by the Senate and are approved after being reviewed in the annex.

(2) The graduate courses offered in a semester and the faculty members who will teach these courses are determined by the Institute’s Executive Board (EYK) based on the recommendations of the relevant department’s Graduate Programs Board (EABDB/EASDB).

(3) In order for students to take the final exam of a course, they are required to attend 70% of the theoretical part of the course and 80% of the practical sessions.

(4) In addition to mid-term exams and/or in-semester assignments, students will be assessed through a final exam and/or a semester project. Students who fail the final exam or the semester project, or are unable to attend these exams or projects, may take a resit exam or, for the project, undergo a resit assessment, provided the Senate has decided that a resit exam or assessment can be conducted for graduate programs. Resit exams and project assessments will only be given to students who have not failed due to absenteeism and have been assigned a grade of "DVZ" (Excused Absence) by the Institute. For students taking a resit exam or undergoing a resit project assessment, the grade obtained in the resit will replace the grade obtained in the final exam or semester project when determining the final grade for the course. Final exams or resit exams will be held at the place and time determined and announced by the relevant department (EABDB). The final grade awarded to a student for a course will be determined by the instructor, taking into account the mid-term exams, final exam, and/or semester project assessment, in-semester assignments, and class attendance. If a student is unable to attend the mid-term exam for a valid and acceptable reason, the department will provide an opportunity for a make-up exam. If the Senate has decided that resit exams will be held, no make-up exams will be conducted for either the final exam or the resit exam.

(5) For each course, the letter grades assigned by the instructor at the end of the semester are as follows:
