Educational Administration Master's program (with and without thesis) has
started to recruit students in spring 2012-2013. The undergraduate education of
the Master's Degree without thesis has started to recruit students in the fall
semester of 2023-2024. The program accepts students who have graduated
from the Faculty of Education. As a prerequisite, at least 50 points from the
Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) must be
obtained. The language of the program is Turkish. During the program, students
must successfully complete eight courses, including courses on Educational
Administration, Research Methods in Educational Sciences and Approaches to Modern
Educational Supervision, as well as five elective courses. The course load must
be completed successfully and the 120 ECTS requirement must be met. Master's
students without thesis have to complete the program in 3 semesters, and
master's students with thesis have to complete the program between 4-6
semesters. In addition, according to the regulation of the Faculty of
Postgraduate Education, all graduate students who register after January 2022
must have 1 national/international full-text paper and/or 1
national/international book section and/or 1 book and/or 1
national/international article published or received a certificate of
acceptance for publication produced from the dissertation or dissertation
topic. Later, students are entitled to complete their master's degree by
defending their original research-based theses in front of a jury and receive
the title of “Science Specialist”. Master's students without thesis should
create a project in order to graduate.
The main purpose of the
Educational Administration master's program is to specialize in the fields of
educational management and supervision, educational policy development and
school management. Within this framework, the goals of the program are to
develop students' knowledge, skills and understanding of the field of
educational management and supervision, to educate them as individuals with the
competencies to comprehend, interpret and apply theories, models and research
methods in their field of study. Accordingly, the Educational Administration and
Supervision Master's program expects students to follow the current
developments in the field of Educational Administration, to be able to
reconstruct these developments in accordance with theoretical information and
to develop useful recommendations to improve the capacity of schools at the
national and international levels.
The vision of the Department of Educational Administration is to train specialists, managers, supervisors and researchers with leadership characteristics and idealistic and high-level qualifications that society needs, to produce research and development studies that will meet the changing and developing needs of the Turkish educational system, to guide the change and transformation of the educational system, and to carry out world-class educational and research activities in the field of Educational Administration.
Students who successfully complete the program are entitled to receive a Master's degree in Educational Sciences.
This program is a master's level program.
According to the Graduate Education Regulation published in the Official GazetteNo. 22683 dated 01.07.1996, the Regulation Amending the Graduate Education and Training Regulation published in the Official gazette No. 28551 dated 06.02.2013 and the principles contained in the Düzce University Graduate Education Regulation published in the Official Gazette No. 28058 dated 18.09.2011, the prerequisite for a master's degree program is to graduate from a 4-year university. However, those who fulfill the following requirements can apply for the program.
To have obtained at least 55 points from the type of score applied from the ALES exam.
To be successful in the science and oral exams to be held by the Graduate School of Education in accordance with the decisions of the Senate of Düzce University.
Students studying in the master's program with thesis,
- Students are required to enroll in at least 7 courses, Seminar and Master's Thesis and complete 120 ECTS credits. In order to be successful in a course in their program, they must have at least CB grade in that course.
- Students are required to have a GPA of at least 3.00 out of 4.00 in all courses in their programs and to be successful in the Seminar course and the Master's Thesis Defense.
Students studying at DU may be exempted from some courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken at another institution is appropriate to the content of the course given at DU and approved by the relevant faculty/institute/school board of directors, the student may be exempted from this course.
Recognition of Education Abroad
The academic semesters and courses of returning students who study as exchange students for one or two semesters at universities abroad with which we have an agreement are recognized by DU.
Students selected to benefit from Student Learning Mobility within the scope of the ERASMUS program are obliged to prepare a learning agreement with their ERASMUS Unit Coordinators before the start of their mobility period. This learning agreement shows the courses and ECTS values that the student will take at the partner university where the student will study.
In addition, students are required to prepare a Recognition Sheet. In this document, the equivalents of the courses that students will take abroad are shown and the credit transfer to be made is determined.
At the end of the exchange period, the courses taken abroad are shown on the transcripts with their original codes and names, ECTS credits and grades. In the official transcripts of the students, the abbreviation “ET”, which stands for “courses taken at universities abroad within the scope of the ERASMUS Program and cooperation agreements”, appears next to these courses.

Our graduates work as education administrators and education supervisors in public and private organizations.

Assessment is determined by the midterm exams, studies like homework, and the final and make-up exam results.

Explation of Other Letter Grades
a) DZ grade: It is given to students who do not fulfill the attendance requirements of the course. It is considered as an FF grade in the calculation of GPA. The student has to repeats the course for the DZ grade.
b) İZ grade: It is given to a student who does not fulfill the attendance requirements or the requirements for course because he is on academic leave of absence, and is not used in the calculation of GPA. The student has to repeats the course for the İZ grade.
c) YT grade: This grade is given to students who are successful in the courses, and it is not used in the calculation of the GPA.
d) YZ grade: This grade is given to students who fail the and it is not used in the calculation of the GPA.
e) GM grade: It is given for the exams that the student did not take.
f) SD grade: This grade is given to the courses that the student is not responsible for and is not used in calculating of the GPA.
Repeating Courses
Students must take courses with FF, YZ, and DZ grades.
