Our graduate program was first opened as a joint program between Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Education Science Education Department and Düzce University Science Institute in the 2014-2015 academic year, and our graduate students started to be included in the program as of this year. As of 2017 Fall semester, our graduate program continues its education independently.
In today's world, where the accumulation of knowledge is increasing rapidly, there is a need for highly specialized manpower in this field, as in other professional professions. The program allows science teachers and other professionals who want to increase their knowledge and skills in this field to specialize and develop themselves in their field. Thus, it is aimed not only to train the postgraduate level manpower needed by our country, but also to contribute to the solution of education problems with more scientific methods through these trained personnel.
Goals
1. To become a well-equipped branch of science that provides graduate education in the field of science education, conducts research, and ensures and improves its physical and academic continuity.
2. To create a research environment that produces solutions, designs, develops and implements programs for education and training problems in the field of science education by using quantitative and qualitative scientific research methods effectively.
3. To become a department that produces permanent solutions with new approaches and develops programs for current problems or unforeseen complex situations that arise during the implementation of science education.
4. To train well-trained and well-equipped specialists, science teachers and academicians at national and international level.
Graduates of the Science Education Master's Program attain a master's degree.

Recognition of Education Abroad
DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.
Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.
In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.
At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.
