[] About Program

The Laboratory and Veterinary Health program was opened in Düzce University, Çilimli Vocational School in the 2019-2020 academic year. Candidates must have a high school diploma and a sufficient score from the University Student Selection Exam. In addition, veterinary health vocational high schools can be passed without examination. In order to obtain a associate degree in the Laboratory and Veterinary Health field, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (total 122 ECTS equivalent) required in the program and their GPA must be at least 2.0 out of 4.00. Graduated students can transfer to the relevant departments of the universities (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine).


Graduates also livestock enterprises, animal hospitals, private veterinary clinics, Ministry of Agriculture, provincial and district directorates, TİGEM, feed factories, private and government veterinary laboratories, zoos, veterinary pharmaceuticals, veterinary and health care products sector has a place in business facilities, can.

It is our goal to provide the students who will graduate to work as veterinary health technicians in animal diseases diagnosis laboratories, modern livestock enterprises producing industrially, pet clinics, feed factories, production and quality control laboratories and animal health in the fields of animal health.

To train experienced technicians by giving hands-on training in animal health and laboratory services. Biosafety practices are prioritized to provide an education in which students are equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge about meat, milk, poultry and pet husbandry.

This department is subject to 122 ECTS credits first stage degree system in the field of Veterinary Medicine in higher education. When the program is successfully completed and the program qualifications are provided, associate degree and veterinary health are gained in associate degree.

The aim of the Laboratory and Veterinary Health program is to train technical staff equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge about animal health and laboratory.

8 Taking preventive measures on fertility, breast and foot health, which are important problems of animals, and inform the veterinarian on time

Graduated students have job opportunities in places such as livestock enterprises, animal hospitals, private veterinary clinics, provincial and district directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture, TIGEM enterprises, feed factories, private and official veterinary laboratories, zoos, veterinary pharmaceutical industry, veterinary health and care products sector.
[] The Upper Stage of a Transition
Graduate students ,having successfully completed their pre-Bsc degree, can pass directly to a Bsc degree program in department of Veterinary Faculty in condition that they get enough points at DGS (Vertical Passage Exam) organised by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center).
[] Program Structure
The Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program is organized with 122 ECTS credits.

The program includes the Common Compulsory Courses in the Higher Education Law and other common courses determined by the English and University Senate.

Program students are obliged to do internship for 30 working days.
[] Examinations, Assessment and Grading
 Classes at the ning of each semester in order to register and enter the final exam the courses and at least 70% of the applications should be continued for at least 80%. Students for each course at least 1 shall be subject to mid-term and final exam. Achievement score, midterm exam (as the midterm grade homework, lab exam, quiz, etc. may be considered as the measuring instruments in the scores) contributed 40%, while the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All the exams are over 100 valuable. Final exam: at least 30 points are required to obtain. A student AA, BA, BB, CB and CC course are one of the letter grades are considered successful. DC and DD notes, conditional achievement grades. DC or DD grade in a course where the students overall weighted grade point average of at least 2.0 in order to be successful you must have.

In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all the courses (122 ECTS equivalent) available in the program, to obtain a minimum GPA of 2.0 over 4.00 and to complete the internship successfully.
