As a result of today's innovations in information technology, many changes have occurred in the traditional business world. Information systems have become necessary to realise strategic business objectives as well as daily activities.
It is this continuous change in technology, management and business processes that makes the Management Information Systems department, which arises from the need to carry out information systems and business management in a common way for businesses to make a profit, a field of study. As a need for this continuous change, the Management Information Systems Undergraduate Programme has emerged.
Information management has become indispensable in our age and information needs to be managed. At this point, Management Information Systems offers the combination of the world with its studies in the continuous production, renewal and dissemination of information. The two merging areas include Business Administration and Computer Engineering. The information generated by computer systems is transferred to the management functions, business processes and business problems of the enterprise. Management Information Systems uses technology not as a tool but as a result.

[] Admission Requirements
The admission of students to the programmes is made according to the Student Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM – University entrance exam) within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC). After students inform the Student Selection and Placement Centre about what programmes they want to study at, students are placed in the related programmes according to their scores they got from the exam.
Foreign students are admitted to the related programmes with the scores of internationally acceptable exams such as SAT, ACT or are admitted to the related programmes with their high school graduation grades (Undergraduate and Graduate Programmes for Foreign Students Admission Guidelines).
The admission of students of General Academic Exchange Protocol to the related programmes are done within the framework of the bilateral agreements (ERASMUS, FARABI, etc) signed between Duzce University and the partner universities. Guest students may enrol into the courses in this programme, if the related academic unit approves. Sufficient language knowledge is required to monitor the programme.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
To complete the available courses in the program (a total of 240 ECTS) successfully, the students have to get at least 50 points out of 100 and required to achieve 2.50 on a 4.00 weighted grade point average. To graduate from the programs students should get at least DD in all of the courses provided. Students are also required to complete the compulsory practice in the specified time.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.
Recognition of Education Abroad
DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.
Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.
In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.
At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.
[] Description of Program
The courses taught in MIS undergraduate education can be divided into three groups. The first of these is the "Informatics courses" group. This group includes Programming Languages, Information Technology, Database Management Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, Computer Networks and Operating Systems.
The "Business courses" group includes Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Marketing, Law, Management Organisation, Enterprise Resource Planning; finally, the "Qualitative courses" group includes Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Production Management.
Students of Düzce University Management Information Systems Undergraduate Programme will finish their 7 semester education with a 4-month internship programme in the 8th semester. In this way, our students will gain work experience before they start working life with the internship opportunity.
When the students graduate, the students who graduate from the Management Information Systems undergraduate programme receive the title of "MIS (Management Information Systems) Specialist".
They have knowledge about rapidly developing hardware and software technologies. They develop solutions in information systems and other web environments and gain managerial skills. Graduates of the undergraduate programme can work in information technologies (IT) and software / system development departments of public and private institutions, consulting companies.

Upon successful completion of this program, can apply to graduate programs in Management Information Systems.
First two years, students attend managerial courses on. organization, accounting, economics, marketing, operation management, business management, entrepreneurship, statistics, finance, decision analysis, MIS design. They also take IT courses like problem solving and coding, object-based programming, computer algorithms, hardware, system software, data modeling and databases, telecommunication, communication networks and integrated information systems.
Last two years, students attend IT courses on system design and analysis, IT systems management, database design and management, expert systems and decision support systems, data mining applications, data transmission and network security, management methods, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, e-commerce, business system developing, ethics and social topics, international management of IT systems, IT system security and control.
