The Sculpture Department has been founded  in 2010.

Educational focus of the Sculpture Department is intended to combine technical skills and artistic creativity. Therefore, the curriculum consists of theoretical and practical courses prepared by considering national and international criteria. The curriculum has a flexible structure that can be updated every year and there are workshop courses from different disciplines.

The Sculpture Department takes attention with its young, modern, open minded academic staff that prioritizes human values. In our department, there are 2 Professor, 2 asst professors, 1 Research Associate.

Our department started education with 13 students in 2016-2017.

[] Admission Requirements

The Sculpture Department accepts students with special talent exam. The "Special Talent Exam Guidelines" of the Senate of Duzce University are applied for the registration and admission conditions.

[] Course's Contrubution To Program

To complete the available courses in the program (a total of 240 ECTS) successfully, the students have to get at least 50 points out of 100 and required to achieve 2.50 on a 4.00 weighted grade point average. To graduate from the programs students should get at least DD in all of the courses provided.

[] Recognition of Prior Learning

Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.

Recognition of Education Abroad

DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.

Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.

In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.

At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

2 Pursues developments in art field in particular the art of sculpture both in national and international level.
3 Evaluates the development and transformation of approaches and methods in sculpture education in terms of its impacts upon implementation
4 Knows arts culture and developments in general manner beside the art of sculpture
5 Uses artistic expression forms accurately and effectively in any communication situation.
6 Uses technology and materials effectively during the learning and implementation process
7 Uses high level knowledge and skills gained from his/her own field in order to develop multidimensional perception, thinking, designing and implementing skills.
8 Through an efficient communication and collaboration with other occupational groups works as an effective team member and takes responsibility.

[] Professional Profile of Graduates

There are possibilities to work in fields such as sculpture, monumental and architectural applications, environmental design, special art education, art consulting, application areas of 3D design, 3D modeling, animation, cinema-tv and stage decoration-special effects.

The students graduating from this program may apply to graduate programs.

[] Program Structure

The local credits of the courses are 186 belonging to elective courses. 30 ECTS credits are required for each semester, equalling a total of 240.

*In this program contain common courses as determined by the University Senate, compulsory courses which is located in High Education Law and English.

*In order to graduate from the program, students are not required to do an internship.

[] Graduation Requirements

The minimum number of local credits required to graduate from the sculpture degree is 168 in total, providing that 30 credits are obtained from optional courses. 30 ECTS credits are required for each semester, equalling a total of 240. The period of study for the sculpture degree is 4 years. Each half semester, which is made up of a 14 week period, involves midterm exams, homework, projects etc . In addition to these assessment activities, there are also end of term final exams. In order to graduate, students must consistently attend classes in the education programmes and pass them all. AGNO’s must be a minimum level of 2.5 and  all other works must be completed.
