[] About Program
The Undergraduate Program in Guidance and Psychological Counseling aims to train qualified psychological counselors who possess professional ethical values to serve in the fields of education, health, and social services. In addition to school counseling, the program provides a theoretical foundation and practical skills in various specialty areas such as mental health counseling, family counseling, and rehabilitation within an academic discipline. The curriculum covers theoretical courses designed to enhance field-specific competencies, as well as practical applications including school experience, community service, and psychological counseling practices. The educational process has a credit structure based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), aligned with the Level 6 qualifications of the Turkish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (TQF-HE), and prepares students for graduate studies. Graduates of the program are employed with the title of "Psychological Counselor" in institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, family counseling centers, judicial units, and public or private organizations providing mental health services.
[] Goals
The mission of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Undergraduate Program is to train qualified psychological counselors who will serve in various fields such as education, health, justice, and social services, committed to professional ethical values and internalizing the principle of respect for human dignity. In alignment with our institutional mission, our primary goal is to raise individuals who prioritize social welfare and individual well-being, comprehend professional paradigms on a scientific basis, and transform learning outcomes into professional psychological services. Instead of subjective claims, our program adopts a scientific educational approach based on candidates achieving defined professional competencies and demonstrating outcome-oriented success in learning processes, supported by information technologies.
[] Objectives
The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Undergraduate Program strategically aims to certify its educational quality by meeting national accreditation (EPDAD) standards within the next five years. Our vision is to ensure that our graduates rank within the top 20% nationwide in KPSS, expertise exams, and sectoral employment rankings, while increasing student mobility within international exchange programs (Erasmus+) by 10% annually. By integrating digital intervention tools and contemporary counseling approaches into its curriculum, our program strives to be among the top five most preferred counseling programs at the national level.
