Department of Turkish Education and Social Sciences Department of Turkish Education Undergraduate Program (Primary Education).

Education and training activities will be carried out in Avni Akyol Service Building, Faculty of Education located in Konuralp Campus of Düzce University. In the Faculty of Education building, there are 6 classrooms for 60 students, 4 technological classrooms for 40 students, student canteens, 1 computer laboratory and 32 teaching staff rooms.

Formal Education processes include associate degree, undergraduate and graduate students; It is enriched with the possibilities offered by technology and approaches such as reverse-face learning and project-based learning.

It is planned to admit 40 (forty) students to Turkish Language Education Undergraduate Program. The language of instruction of the program is Turkish. There is no preparation class for the program.

[] Goals
 The main purpose of the Turkish Language Education Undergraduate Program is to train Turkish teachers for secondary schools. In Turkey, the Turkish middle school teacher could not be removed while still open. Turkey in the 2012-2013 academic year education in the school system since the regulations were made, expressed as a 4 + 4 + 4. Before this arrangement, Turkish teachers, 6-8. She was teaching Turkish lessons for 5 hours a week. With the regulation, the task area of ​​Turkish teachers in secondary schools (grades 5-8) expanded by 25% and spread over a period of four years. In addition to the 4 + 4 + 4 arrangement, in addition to the 5-hour weekly Turkish lessons at each grade level, the elective courses related to Turkish came into effect in the secondary schools and the responsibility area of ​​the Turkish teachers has expanded.
    In addition to the Ministry of National Education, a large number of Turkish teachers are needed in private educational institutions. This needs to be cultivated in order to resolve the teachers, to solve education problems in Turkey, with modern educational technology competencies that can be used in the best way for educators is intended to become effective.
     Teachers who have graduated from the Department of Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program gain proficiency in teaching Turkish to foreigners and enable them to be employed in this field. In the undergraduate program, the content specific to this field is given through elective courses in addition to the field courses and it is another aim of our graduates to work in Turkish teaching centers both in Turkey and abroad.
      It is expected that the teachers who will be educated at Düzce University Faculty of Education will be beneficial to their country, guided by science, and aiming to move forward on the path of contemporary civilization. Besides these goals;

.Providing opportunities for prospective teachers to graduate in a broader perspective in the fields of culture and art as well as academic development,
.It is also aimed to contribute to the development of teacher candidates and to increase their knowledge and experience by cooperating with other institutions, particularly the institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.

     Considering the main purpose of the Turkish Language Education Undergraduate Program, the level of achievement of teacher qualifications determined by the Ministry of National Education for Turkish teachers will constitute a reference in the evaluation of the program.
     The level of employment of our graduating teachers as Turkish teachers and the qualifications of the teachers employed will be our indicator of success. It is planned that monitoring studies will be carried out for graduating teachers regarding the realization of this indicator.

[] Admission Requirements

        The admission of students to the programmes is made according to the Student Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM – University entrance exam) within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC). After students inform the Student Selection and Placement Centre about what programmes they want to study at, students are placed in the related programmes according to their scores they got from the exam.
        Foreign students are admitted to the related programmes with the scores of internationally acceptable exams such as SAT, ACT or are admitted to the related programmes with their high school graduation grades (Undergraduate and         Graduate Programmes for Foreign Students Admission Guidelines).
      The admission of students of General Academic Exchange Protocol to the related programmes are done within the framework of the bilateral agreements (ERASMUS, FARABI, etc) signed between Duzce University and the partner universities. Guest students may enrol into the courses in this programme, if the related academic unit approves. Sufficient language knowledge is required to monitor the programme.

[] Course's Contrubution To Program

To complete the available courses in the program (a total of 240 ECTS) successfully, the students have to get at least 50 points out of 100 and required to achieve 2.50 on a 4.00 weighted grade point average. To graduate from the programs students should get at least DD in all of the courses provided. Students are also required to complete the compulsory practice in the specified time.

[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.
Recognition of Education Abroad
DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.
Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.
In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.
At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

Candidates who will graduate from this program will gain the title of Öğret Turkish Teacher üzere to work in secondary schools and Turkish teaching centers.

They will graduate from this program, Turkey depends on the Ministry of Education in secondary school staff will be employed as a teacher of Turkish in general. In addition, they will be employed as Turkish teachers in private schools of the Ministry of National Education. The graduates of this program can be employed as a Turkish teacher in Turkish Teaching Centers. In addition, Turkish teachers can work as a language specialist in the media and publishing houses.

[] Program Structure
In order to graduate from this program, students are required to meet the requirements to graduate from the total of the courses and credits specified in the undergraduate program in ANNEX-1 during the 4-year education period. In terms of the Bologna process, a total of 240 ECTS credits is required for graduation. In addition to fulfilling the tasks expected of the students in the lessons (preparing research projects, participating in studies that will reveal their creative aspects, etc.), their success in midterm and final exams will be indicative of whether they will fulfill the condition of graduation.
