Goals The International Economics II course aims to analyze the international dimension of economics from a real perspective. It covers theories explaining why countries engage in trade, objectives and instruments of trade policy, tariffs and non-tariff barriers, trade liberalization, globalization, and economic integrations. Additionally, topics such as the structure of the European Union and other economic groupings, Turkey-EU relations, and Turkey’s balance of payments are examined in detail.
Course Content The content of the International Economics II course includes trade theories, trade policies, globalization, economic integrations, Turkey-EU relations, and Turkey’s balance of payments.
Learning Outcomes - Students can explain the operating logic of the balance of payments accounts.
- Students can compare exchange rate systems by considering the factors that determine the exchange rate.
- Students can predict how the developments in the economies of different countries may affect the national economy through which channels.
