The Beekeeping Program aims to provide students with fundamental principles, techniques, and sustainable practices in apiculture. Emphasizing the critical role of bees within the ecosystem, the program seeks to educate qualified, conscious, and environmentally responsible beekeepers by offering both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Furthermore, by teaching up-to-date methods for the production of high-quality honey and other bee products, as well as current market dynamics, the program contributes to the development of students skills in establishing and managing their own businesses.
PEO1:
To educate technical personnel who possess fundamental knowledge and skills in basic beekeeping practices; who are capable of practically solving field-related problems; and who can demonstrate productivity within their professional area.
PEO2:
To train technicians who are capable of carrying out colony care and management, queen rearing, breeding and selection, as well as the production of traditional and next-generation bee products; who have gained experience in advanced techniques; and who are knowledgeable in legislation, entrepreneurship, marketing, and occupational health and safety regulations.
PEO3:
To graduate individuals who are inclined toward teamwork, possess strong communication skills, adhere to professional ethical values, and work in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
PEO4:
To educate individuals who embrace lifelong learning; who are able to follow technological developments; who can monitor innovations in their professional field through foreign language proficiency; and who are capable of sustaining their professional development.
The admissions of students to the programs are made according to the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM – University entrance exam) within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC). After students inform the Student Selection and Placement Center about what programs they want to study at, students are placed in the related programs according to their scores they got from the exam. Foreign students are admitted to the related programs with the scores of internationally acceptable exams such as SAT, ACT or are admitted to the related programs with their high school graduation grades (Undergraduate and Graduate Programs for Foreign Students Admission Guidelines). he admission of students of General Academic Exchange Protocol to the related programs are done within the framework of the bilateral agreements (ERASMUS, FARABI, etc) signed between Duzce University and the partner universities. Guest students may enroll into the courses in this program, if the related academic unit approves. Sufficient language knowledge is required to monitor the program.
