Mode of delivery The course is conducted through individual research, source analysis, text examination, regular supervisory meetings, written reporting, and academic evaluation carried out by the student under the guidance of the advisor faculty member and within the framework of the dissertation topic.

Goals The aim of this course is to enable the student to plan, develop, and complete their doctoral dissertation in the field of Basic Islamic Sciences in accordance with the principles of scholarly research. Within the scope of the course, it is aimed that the student deepens the thesis topic, evaluates classical and contemporary sources, clarifies the methodology, and produces an original academic contribution.
Course Content This course covers the student’s doctoral dissertation process in terms of problem identification, literature review, source evaluation, methodology formation, data and text analysis, chapter planning, academic writing, and the evaluation of thesis findings in accordance with scholarly standards. In addition, scholarly, methodological, and technical issues encountered during the dissertation writing process are discussed under the supervision of the advisor.

1. Week The scope, purpose, significance, and main research problem of the dissertation topic are evaluated under the supervision of the advisor. Interview
2. Week The general framework of the classical and contemporary literature related to the dissertation topic is identified. Interview
3. Week The primary and secondary sources to be used in the research are identified and evaluated. Interview
4. Week The methodology, conceptual framework, and main approach of the dissertation are clarified. Interview
5. Week The sub-problems, research questions, and limitations of the study are determined in detail. Interview
6. Week The introduction chapter and the general chapter outline of the dissertation are studied. Interview
7. Week The literature review is deepened and the original aspect of the research is presented. Interview
8. Week The main texts, narrations, or data to be examined in the dissertation begin to be analyzed. Interview
9. Week The findings obtained are discussed with the advisor and reviewed in terms of academic coherence. Interview
10. Week Writing studies for the first chapters of the dissertation are carried out and the texts are developed. Interview
11. Week The written chapters are evaluated in terms of content, methodology, language, and academic style. Interview
12. Week The process of analysis, writing, and structuring for the later chapters of the dissertation is continued. Interview
13. Week The dissertation as a whole is reviewed in terms of source usage, citation format, coherence, and scholarly contribution. Interview
14. Week The studies carried out throughout the semester are evaluated as a whole, and the next stages of the dissertation process are planned. Interview
*Midterm and final exam dates are not specified in the 14-week course operation plan. Midterm and final exam dates are held on the dates specified in the academic calendar with the decision of the University Senate.
