| Goals | To teach the historical development, current state, and religious phenomena of the phenomenology of religion. To highlight the differences between the phenomenology of religion and other methodologies. This course will examine the phenomenology of religion method used in the field of religious studies in general, and in the field of the history of religions in particular. |
| Course Content | This course addresses the definition, scope, and methodology of the phenomenology of religion. It examines religious phenomena such as the sacred, myth, ritual, worship, symbol, sacred space, and sacred time; and evaluates religious experiences in different religions from a comparative perspective. Furthermore, the course explores the place of the phenomenology of religion within the history of religions and religious studies, and its contributions to religious research, aiming to enable students to evaluate religious phenomena from an analytical and phenomenological perspective. |
