The Cinema and Television Master Program has a curriculum that is based on the study and research of cinema - television channels with an interdisciplinary perspective, and also provides a basis for product creation in these channels. This program is for students who want to empower themselves in the field of cinema and television, do academic work and have extensive knowledge. The first students of the program started to be accepted in the Fall semester of the 2019-2020 Academic Year.
The aim of the Master's Program in Cinema and Television Department is; In accordance with the interdisciplinary structure of the cinema and television field, students have theoretical and technical knowledge capable of using both related science fields and different art fields, can use technology and aesthetics together, follow the world and current developments in art, cinema and television, professional principles. Students who are devoted to art, have a sense of aesthetics, have a critical and questioning perspective, can develop and defend original ideas, follow global developments in the field, are open to self-renewal, and are willing to work individually and collectively as specialist individuals.
The aim of the Master Program in Cinema and Television Department with Thesis is to provide students with the theoretical awareness required in the field of cinema - television with a scientific perspective and method. This program also aims to enable students to perform creative work in the field of cinema and television by combining theory and practice.
This program is a graduate-level program.
Students who successfully complete the program are entitled to receive a Master's degree in Cinema and Television.
In the conditions of registration and admission, the criteria stipulated by the Presidency of the Department are sought in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations for Postgraduate Education and Education in Düzce University.
The master's program with thesis consists of at least seven courses, a seminar course and a thesis study, provided that it is not less than twenty one credits in total. Seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. According to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), the master's program with thesis consists of a minimum of 120 ECTS credits, including at least eight courses and thesis work, including a seminar course, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits. The student has to register for the thesis period every semester starting from the period following the appointment of the supervisor at the latest.
The student verbally defends the thesis work prepared in accordance with the spelling rules accepted by the senate to the jury.
In-field: To have graduated from one of the following departments of universities: Faculties of Communication and Communication Sciences; Faculties of Fine Arts; Faculties of Art and Design; Faculties of Art, Design and Architecture; Faculties of Fine Arts and Design; or Faculties of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture with majors in Cinema, Cinema and Television, Radio, Television and Cinema, or Film Design.
Out-of-field: Refers to candidates coming from departments other than those listed as in-field above. If accepted into the program, they are required to take preparatory courses.

Graduates of the Cinema and Television Master program can work in different branches of the cinema and television sectors during the pre-production, production and post-production stages. Examples of these stages are assistant director, cinematography, editing operator, art direction, screenwriting, production responsibility and directing. Considering the academic staff needs of the universities in our country, it is seen that students have the opportunity to pursue a career in universities.
Students who have completed the master's program can apply to doctorate programs.
The duration of the master's program with thesis is four semesters, regardless of whether the student enrolls for each semester, starting from the period when the courses related to the program he / she enrolled, except for the period in scientific preparation, is completed in maximum six semesters.
