Integrated Programme of  Gifted Education Studies Master’s Degree is consist of general courses such as giftedness and giftedness theory and theories of creativity and creative practice, curriculum development for gifted students (enrichment, acceleration, individualized, differentitation), mainstream to the gifted students in the general education classroom, teaching social skills to gifted children and field specific courses such as application of science for gifted children, early childhood studies, creative writing, counseling and guidance services.

Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded an Master’s Degree in Integrated Programme of Gifted Education Studies Master’s Degree.

It is a programme that provides graduate education at Second Cycle level.

[] Admission Requirements

-To hold an undergraduate diploma.
-To be successful in the interview/ aptitude test.
-Exchange student applications are to be done in accordance with the admission requirements of the agreement signed between DuzceUniversity and the partner university.
-Visiting students can take the courses approved by the head of the related department

[] Course's Contrubution To Program

-Are required to take 10 courses and enroll in the Graduation Project Course, and complete 120 ECTS. (The Graduation Project Course do not have local credit and are assessed with a pass or fail).
-Are required to get at least CB grade in order to be successful in a course in their program.
-Are required to have 3.00 general average grades out of 4.00 on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Graduate Project course.

[] Recognition of Prior Learning

Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.

Recognition of Education Abroad


DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.

Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.

In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.

At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

Integrated Programme of Gifted Education Studies Master’s Degre, under the umbrella of Duzce University Institute of Social Sciences, include related courses of education science at the master's teaching program.

1 Acquiring knowledge on theories and practice of education in general, subject teaching in particular, and the basic concepts and theories of the related disciplines
2 Knowing how to obtain information geared towards lifelong learning,
3 Doing effective educational planning, organizing and evaluating based on theoretical and practical content matter and in relation to the needs of the learners,
4 Utilizing educational technologies in a variety of educational settings,
5 Analyzing studies in the field with a scientific perspective, assessing the findings and offering solutions,
6 Acquiring academic literacy and minimum B1 level competence at a foreign language in order to pursue the global developments in the area of study,
7 Pursuing the scientific discussions in the field and interpreting them through scientific examination,
8 Forming scientific study platforms in order to solve the problems in practice,
9 Preparing and conducting solution-based projects in response to social problems in an effort to contribute to the School-Society collaboration
10 Following the developments in the field through professional activities such as literature reviews, seminars, conferences and workshops, and sharing them with other expert and non-expert individuals,
11 Being an innovative and self-confident intellectual with a sense of society, environment, social justice and respect for ethical values.

Students who graduate from this program can not apply to a doctorate programme without completing thesis programme.

Students take courses in two semester and  they prepare Graduate Project in one semesters
