Forest Engineering department provides the graduate education in the all spectrum of sustainable forest management from silviculture to forest economics. 
Graduate programs offers research opportunities and problem solving skills on the local and national forest management issues for various levels of managers and engineers excelling forestry profession.

The main mission of the graduate programs is to provide outstanding researches on sustainable forest management and meet the expert staff needs of Turkish forestry.

Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded an Master’s Degree in Forest Engineering.
[] Earned Level of Qualification
It is a programme that provides graduate education at Second Cycle level.
[] Admission Requirements
It is essential for the candidates of graduate program:

•    To hold an undergraduate diploma.
•    To have a grade of at least 55 in ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam), 450 in GMAT, which is an internationally accredited exam or 610 in the “quantitative” part of GRE exam.
•    To meet the requirements determined by the head of department and to have  taken the language proficiency exam given by the Institute, unless the candidate has a certificate of KPDS/UDS or any other exam accredited by YOK (Turkish Higher Education Institution).
•    To be successful in the interview/ aptitude test.
•    To have a reference letter, a statement of purpose  showing thereas on for applying  for the graduate program and competence in written and oral Turkish and/or foreign language skills.
•    Exchange student applications are to be done in accordance with the admission requirements of the agreement signed between DuzceUniversity and the partner university.
•    Visiting students can take the courses approved by the head of the related department.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
Students studying master's with thesis are required:
• To take 7 courses and enroll in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis, and complete 120 ECTS. To get at least a grade of CB in order to be successful in each course of the program,
• To have 3.00 general average grade out of 4.00 on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis defense.

Students registered in a Master’s program without thesis:
• Are required to take 10 courses and enroll in the Graduation Project Course, and complete 120 ECTS. (The Graduation Project Course do not have local credit and are assessed with a pass or fail).
• Are required to get at least CB grade in order to be successful in a course in their program.
• Are required to have 3.00 general average grades out of 4.00 on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Graduate Project course.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.

Recognition of Education Abroad

DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.

Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.

In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.

At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

The objective of the Forest Engineering graduate Program is to master of degree Forest Engineers who - can preserve, improve and sustainably manage scarce natural resources in reference to dynamic scientific, technological, educational, and social issues, - are competent in education and research, - are aware of professional responsibilities, - adhere to the ethical values - are attentive, creative and have critical thinking skills - can assume individual responsibilities

1 Based on graduate level proficiency, to accomplish the level of experties in the field of forestry
2 The skill to use theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise in the field of forestry, to incorporate knowledge from different disciplines to create new information and to solve important problems using the methods of scientific research
3 By taking leadership responsibility, the ability to conduct independent research on a complex problem, to develop new approaches for new solutions, to publish the results
4 The competence of critical and analytical thinking
5 Using information and communication technologies, the skill to transfer new information and insights on forestry activities to different interest groups in written and oral means
6 The skill to communicate effectively in oral and written presentations at international level
7 The ability to take into consideration of the scientific, social, cultural and ethical values at all stages of data collection, evaluation and interpretation
8 The ability to develop strategy, policy and implementation plans in forestry, incorporating relevant issues and evaluating results within the framework of total quality management processes
9 The ability to use and interpret background information to solve problems using, practical skills in interdisciplinary studies

Forest Engineering Graduate Program involves 21 local and 120 ECTS credits. This program includes 21 credits (minimum) courses, a seminar, and thesis work. See the graduate school regulations for more detail.
