Training is provided at the graduate classrooms and laboratories of Düzce University Medical Faculty Medical Microbiology Department.
The teaching and learning language is Turkish, and foreign students are accepted as a program.
In the master program of microbiology; (1) Thesis graduate program aims to educate the students on the basis of scientific methods of research.
(1) To be able to acquire experience in the field of microbiology in the field of microbiology and to apply the scientific research methods used in the field of microbiology as well as acquire a general knowledge and understanding of microbiology in the field of microbiology.
(2) Thesis master program consists of at least seven courses, a seminar course and a thesis study that are not less than twenty one credits. The seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. Thesis graduate program consists of at least 120 ECTS credits including at least eight courses including thesis seminar and dissertation thesis, not less than 60 ECTS credits. The student has to register for each semester thesis period since the appointment of the supervisor at the latest.
(3) Up to two of the courses the learners will take may be selected from undergraduate courses, provided that they have not been taken during the undergraduate study. In addition, a maximum of two courses may be selected from the courses offered at other higher education institutions by the recommendation of the institute EABDB / EASDB and EYK approval. (4) Thesis graduate program can be conducted as second graduate curriculum.
In the master program of microbiology; It is aimed that candidates should be trained in international standards in the field of microbiology science, graduates should have a general knowledge and understanding in the field of microbiology and have a microbiological knowledge perspective and gain experience in application of scientific research methods used in the field of microbiology.
The aim of the program is to learn the science of microbiology.
Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded an Master’s Degree in Microbiology.

[] Admission Requirements
In order to apply to the graduate program, candidates must have an ALES score that is not less than 55 points that will be determined by the Senate for the degree awarded to the undergraduate degree. In the acceptance assessment, the recommendation of EABDB / EASDB regarding which ALES score, science exam, interview and graduation grade averages will be applied in the same place is decided in Senat with EK approval. Masters program quotas and application conditions are announced on the institute's web site at the times specified in the university's academic calendar.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
Students studying master's with thesis are required:
• To take 7 courses and enroll in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis, and complete 120 ECTS. To get at least a grade of CB in order to be successful in each course of the program,
• To have 3.00 general average grade out of 4.00 on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis defense.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.
Recognition of Education Abroad
DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.
Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.
In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.
At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

May apply to the doctoral program
All mandatory lectures of Master of Science program in microbiology are taken from the department. The ratio of elective lectures is 50%. If it is needed, the lectures can be taken from other departments. Mandatory credit point to take is 24. According to European Credit Transfer System; mandatory and elective lectures that give at least 60 credits, and the specific subject lectures needed for thesis study that give at least 60 credits are necessary. Program lectures are theoretical and practical. Elective lectures are given after first semester. The student in Master of Science program prepares a thesis study in addition to lecture, seminar and practical studies. The duration of education is 4 half semesters (2 years). First two half semesters are lecture section and then, next two half semesters are thesis section. The student carries out the lecture period under the advisement of a faculty member, and conducts the thesis period under the advisement of at least a faculty member. The attendance is mandatory for theoretical and practical lectures
