The Cyber Security program provides graduate education and can successfully take part in design, production, application and research and development studies in industry and research institutions, is creative, has a systematic approach to problem solving, is prone to teamwork, is environmentally sensitive, has social, economic and professional ethical awareness and is a leader. It trains experts in the field of Cyber Security.

The aim of the program is to enable university graduates with a four-year undergraduate degree to have theoretical and practical knowledge in the design, development and management of information security systems and to receive the necessary basic education to work in this field.

Any university graduate who fulfills the application requirements determined by our university's Senate can apply to the Cyber Security Master's Program.

[] Recognition of Prior Learning

Students studying at DU may be exempt from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken at another institution is in accordance with the content of the course given at DU and it is approved by the relevant faculty/institute/school administrative board, the student may be exempted from this course.


Recognition of Study Abroad


Academic semesters and courses of students who study abroad as exchange students for one or two semesters at our partner universities and return are recognized by DU.


Students selected to benefit from Student Study Mobility within the scope of the ERASMUS program are obliged to prepare a learning agreement with their ERASMUS Unit Coordinators before the mobility period starts. This learning agreement; It shows the courses that the student will take at the partner university and the ECTS values.


In addition, students are required to prepare a Recognition Sheet. In this document, the credit transfer to be made is determined by showing the equivalents of the courses that the students will take abroad at DU.


At the end of the exchange period, the courses taken abroad by the student are shown in their transcripts with their original codes and names, along with their ECTS Credits and grades. In the official transcripts of the students, there is the abbreviation "ET", which means "courses taken at universities abroad within the scope of the ERASMUS Program and cooperation agreements".

In the Department of Cyber Security, Computer Engineering department staff, which was established in the 2013-2014 academic year, give lectures. 4 Associate Professors, 8 Assist. There are lecturers holding the title of Associate Professor.

1 He/she is familiar with common themes and concepts such as encryption, digital signature, security protocols and applies his expertise to effectively design, develop and manage information security.
3 Has the ability to think at different levels of abstraction and detail; Going beyond a narrow realization, it analyzes the different contexts in which an information security system can be considered, including its interactions with the physical world and people.
4 Solves any technical or scientific information security problem by itself and offers the most appropriate possible solution; Has good communication skills to explain the integrity of the solution and clearly explain the assumptions made.
5 Completes a larger-scale project compared to an ordinary course project in order to acquire interpersonal communication skills necessary for effective working in a team.
6 He is aware that the field of information security and cyber security is developing rapidly, security algorithms, security vulnerabilities and attack types change over time. For this reason, he follows information security, cyber attacks and defense mechanisms and cryptographic developments and applications, learns and develops his skills throughout his career.
7 It is aware of the social, legal, ethical and cultural aspects of information security practices and conducts all professional activities ethically and responsibly.
8 Has a good grasp of technical terms in both English and Turkish and can make concise presentations on technical/scientific problems and their solutions to a variety of audiences face-to-face, in writing or electronically.
9 Define research problems and conduct research using scientific methods to solve scientific problems.

[] The Upper Stage of a Transition
[] Program Structure

The duration of all courses given within the scope of the program is two semesters and there are no actual prerequisite restrictions in the courses.

In the first two semesters, students take at least 6 elective courses aimed at gaining knowledge, skills and competencies in special fields that they may want to focus on in the future. ECTS credits of each course is 7.5 ECTS credits. Students can take elective courses from another program with the approval of the head of the department, provided that they do not exceed a certain number.

[] Examinations, Assessment and Grading

The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the "Course Teaching Plan" prepared by the relevant faculty member/s and included in the Information package. Regarding exams and course grades, D.Ü. Relevant articles of the Graduate Education and Examination Regulations are applied.

Students who meet the conditions set in the Duzce University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations are entitled to graduate.
