[] About Program
This program is a program that provides education in the Department of Guidance and Psycahological Counseling. Each student defining the program has a master's degree. They can be expert psychological counselors. On average, 15 students are admitted to the program each year.
[] Goals
With this program, it is aimed to gain  to psychological counselors various compentences in the areas of knowledge, skills and competence such as Psychological Counselling and Guidance (PCG) in the field and related sub-specialist areas to anlayze and apply relevant theoretical and practical knowlwdge; adopting the PCG theories, principles and techniques and professional ethics and conducting appropriate counseling practices; to have scientific research methods and advanced statistical knowledge, to be able to integrate academic studies and filed studies; developing a positive understanding of lifelong learning.

Provide postgraduate education national and international standards in Psychological Counseling and Guidance field. To educate scholars can fallow emerged scientific developments in their field and produce new approach. To be a researcher, scientific respect to ethic values and competitive in the area of national and international academic staff.

[] Admission Requirements
This master's program may apply to:
- Graduating from Guidance and Psychological Counseling undergraduate program
- Take at least 55 from the ALES  (EA)

The criteria for admission to the program are as follows:
- ALES (%50)
- Undergraduate GPA (%20)
- Science Exam (%30)

These provisions will be applied in accordance with the relevant provisions of Düzce University Graduate Education and Training Examination Directorate.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
Students studying master's with thesis are required:
• To take 7 courses and enroll in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis, and complete 120 ECTS. To get at least a grade of CB in order to be successful in each course of the program,
• To have 3.00 general average grade out of 4.00 on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis defense.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
At Düzce University, students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related by laws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the related graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

1 Demonstrate adequate understanding of theoretical knowledge acquired by psychological counseling and guidance and can criticize, interpret and synthesize the acquired body of knowledge.
2 Demonstrate adequate understanding and competence in conceptualizing client difficulties according to existing theoretical models of psychological counseling and choosing interventions accordingly.
3 Hold satisfactory degree of knowledge, skills and understanding that enables them to work in various settings (sectors).
4 Possess advanced skills and knowledge as individual, group, student personnel services, couple and family counselors.
5 Hold satisfactory degree of skills, knowledge and ethical standards that enable them work as independent practitioners and researchers.
6 Adapt their skills and knowledge in a variety of counseling services (such as testing, career counseling, educational counseling etc.) to a variety of clientele and societal circumstances.
7 Plan and implement individual and group counseling interventions as independent expert-practitioners.
8 Able to and take leadership roles in preparing and implementing psychological counseling and guidance programs based on effectively viewing/evaluating local circumstances of his/her services in accordance with scientific and ethical principles.
9 Demonstrate advanced social skills that enable them to collaborate in multidisciplinary-professional teams and to effectively deliver services to their clientele.
10 Contribute to individuals' growth by conceptualize experiences of their clientele within a contextual and developmental point of view and tailoring/implementing interventions accordingly.
11 Reflect critically on norms regulating social relations within their professional environments and take proactive actions toward improving them.
12 Prepare and implement and scientific projects on various psychological counseling and guidance services and develop reports of these projects as independent scientists.
13 Takes leadership roles and create partnerships with other professionals so as to improve individuals' living circumstances in accordance with principles of preventive mental health.
14 Demonstrates positive attitudes toward life-long learning and commitment to democracy, human rights and professional ethical standards.

[] Professional Profile of Graduates
While some of the graduates work at school settings or pursue doctoral degrees in order to work at universities as faculty members others work at a variety of settings including private counseling centers, army and police headquarters, courts of family and children and other health or industrial institutions.

The students graduating from this program may apply to Doctorate Degree (third cycle) programs.

[] Program Structure
Program, Department Head, Assistant Department Head and Coordinator of ECTS operates through coordinated work.
Courses, each course, which is responsible for the relevant criteria specified by the Instructor and teaching methods are processed in the framework.
Students take courses in the second semester, two semesters are also Master Thesis Prepared.
Specialization courses with Master's Thesis is well taken.
Thesis students who completed the program successfully and approved by the Institute is completed.

In order to be successful in a course, the grade must be at least DD or higher. AA,BA, BB, CB, CC are unconditionally successful grades in the table above. DC and DD grades are conditional successful grades. In order for a student to be successful in a course in which he or she receives DC or DD, the ECTS must be at least 2.50.
