[] About Program

The Institute of Fine Arts, which was established in 2017 to contribute to the creation of artistic suggestions, which are open to both productive and theoretical developments and innovations of world art, took its first students to the Proficiency in Painting Program in the Art Department in the Fall of 2018-2019. The program consists of theoretical and practical courses which aim to address the artistic production and the intellectual accumulation in this subject at the graduate level. In parallel with these courses, seminars, exhibitions and conferences are organized.

Duzce has a dynamic structure with its proximity to big cities and it offers an isolated area from the city life with its nature. The cosmopolitan structure of the city with its many cultures and its intimacy with the industry have an important role in the artistic research environment of our institute. In this context, the academic structure of the institution with the qualifications of the age aims to draw a graduate profile with an international vision

Painting Department; aims to raise contemporary artists who are aware of social and cultural events, follow the agenda of art, produce original works and are open to innovations. For this purpose to be realized; The students prepare a free environment consisting of theoretical and practical courses where students can discuss and express themselves.

[] Admission Requirements
In the conditions of registration and admission, in accordance with the provisions of Düzce University, GRADUATE EDUCATION AND TEACHING REGULATION, the criteria of the Presidency of the Department are sought.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
At least seven courses for students who are accepted to the program with a master's degree with a thesis with a minimum of 60 ECTS, with a minimum of 60 ECTS, with a minimum of 240 ECTS including applications, thesis, exhibition, project, recital, concert, representation credit. For students who are admitted with a bachelor's degree, the program consists of at least forty-two credits, fourteen courses, applications and thesis, exhibitions, projects, recitals, concerts, representations and at least 300 ECTS credits. Students must have successfully completed all courses in the program (total ECTS) and have obtained at least 50 points out of 100 in each course. They must obtain at least 2.50 Grade Point Average (GANO) over 4.00. In addition, all courses foreseen in the curriculum should be at least DD grade.

 

The student has to take the proficiency exam until the end of the first semester following the completion of the semester. The proficiency exam is to determine whether the student who has completed his / her courses and seminar has a depth of scientific research related to the basic subjects and concepts in the field and doctoral study. The proficiency exam is conducted in two parts, written and oral. Students who pass the written exam are admitted to the oral exam. Students who score less than 70 points each of the written and oral exams are considered successful.

 

The student who prepares the thesis defends the text, explaining and documenting his / her results such as exhibition, project, recital, concert, representation in accordance with the spelling rules accepted by the Senate, and defending his / her studies such as thesis, exhibition, project, recital, concert, representation in front of the jury orally.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students studying at the State University may be exempted from certain courses in accordance with certain regulations. If the content of the course taken in another institution is appropriate to the content of the course given in the above-mentioned subject and approved by the related faculty / institute / school board, the student may be exempted from this course.


Recognition of Education Abroad


The academic semesters and courses of the students who study and return as an exchange student for one or two semesters in the universities we are contracted abroad are recognized by the DÜ.
 
Students who are selected to take advantage of Student Learning Mobility within the scope of ERASMUS program are obliged to prepare a learning agreement with ERASMUS Unit Coordinators before they start their mobility periods. This learning agreement; show common university credit courses and ECTS values.

In addition, students are required to prepare Recognition Sheet. In this document, the credits to be made are determined by showing the equivalent equivalents of the courses that the students will take abroad.
 
At the end of the exchange period, the courses taken abroad by the student are shown in their transcripts, together with their original code and names, and ECTS Credits and grades. In addition to these courses, the official transcripts of the students include the abbreviation ”ET“ which means AS ERASMUS Program and the courses taken in foreign universities within the scope of cooperation agreements Öğ.

 

Students studying at the university may be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken in another institution is appropriate to the content of the course given in the above-mentioned subject and approved by the related faculty / institute / school board, the student may be exempted from this course.

Students who graduated from the Department of Painting can work in private and public institutions as a painter, art consultant, museum supervisor, or as the person in charge of the gallery. Considering the academic staff needs of the universities in our country, it is also seen that students have the opportunity to make career in universities.

[] Program Structure

The period of completion of the proficiency program in art, starting from the period when the courses related to the program that the student is enrolled for are accepted for the Master's degree except for the time spent in the scientific preparation, the maximum completion period is eight semesters, the maximum completion period is ten semesters for the ones admitted with the bachelor's degree and the maximum completion period is fourteen semesters.
