The purpose of Turkish Language and Literature Master's Degree Program is to graduate specialists who will be successful not only in Turkey but also abroad, can follow new developments, understand the structure and development of Turkish language from the beginning to these days and have knowledge about Turkish culture. It is also aimed to collect and interpret the data necessary for the scientific research of the language and cultural characteristics of the Düzce region.
The students who graduate from the program can conduct academic studies by receiving doctorate education at the department of Turkish Language and Literature of other universities or a related department, can be academician, can also be employed in the relevant areas of the state instutions. Turkish Language and Literature Master's Degree Program aims to enable students to transfer their education in the field of Turkish language and literature in the most effective way to future generations by using the opportunities of the date and the advanced technology.
The purpose of the department of Turkish language and literature in the framework of the Turkish Higher education is to train language and literature researchers who know structure and historical development of the Turkish language, Turkish was introduced by the authors of the works and the works which are periods of Turkish literature, types, form and content characteristic; grasp culturel, political and social concepts of Turkish literature; compare properties of Turkish language and literature with other language and literature features, use research, analysis and comparison methods moreover reflect all these gainslike between national culture and universal culture by creative mind.
The goal of the Department of Turkish Language and Literatere is to contribute to the scientific study which is located national and international level. With this contrubition which provides; is to achieve a leading position at the gradute level.
The Master’s Degree in Turkish Language and Literature awarded to the graduates who have successfully full filled all programme requirements.

[] Course's Contrubution To Program
The total number of credits required for graduation is 30. Each course has 3 credits and all courses are theoretical. Only the Scientific Research Methods I and the Scientific Research Methods II courses are compulsory. Other courses are elective.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in Düzce University might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of Düzce University, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.
Recognition of Education Abroad
Düzce University recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established. Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits. In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in Düzce University, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved. At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

Gets information about prosody, rhyme and poetry forms of Old Turkish Literature. Knows this literature's periods, poets and these poet’s works. Tries to read and understand the texts written with Arabic script. |

Determines the basic properties of the Modern Turkish Literature periods; knows the new forms and themes that play a role in the period, the new literary language, and imagism, reveals the relationships of the new author, text and reader; compares with the old and determines the effects to the next. |

[] The Upper Stage of a Transition
Graduates who successfully completed the Master's Degree may apply to doctorate (third cycle) programmes in the same or in related disciplines.
The total number of ECTS credits required for graduation is 120. And all courses are theoretical. Only the Scientific Research Methods I and the Scientific Research Methods II courses are compulsory. Other courses are elective.
[] Graduation Requirements
In order to be able to graduate from the Turkish Language and Literature Graduate Program, students are required to complete 21 credits including 7 courses and 1 seminar. The total amount of ECTS credits is 120; 30 credits for each semester course. The duration of the Turkish Language and Literature Master's program is 2 years. There are midterm exams, projects and similar evaluation activities during the semester and final exams at the end of the semester. After successfully completing the course, the students are required to prepare a master thesis and to make an oral presentation of their thesiss. After the thesis presentation, successful students are eligible to graduate.
