Wood Products Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Program, began teaching in the academic year 2014-2015 . Turkish is the medium of instruction.This program has a curriculum for researchers, planners, practitioners and managers that work in the institutions/organizations within the wood products industry and furniture sector. The courses designed under the theory of global competition, according to international standards to ensure production of quality wood-based works and furniture.
Our departmental mission is to produce information and train environmentally conscious students who design wood products industrial engineering systems, analyse, implement, evaluate and review the results, take responsibility, respect professional and ethical values, do research, and share policy with the knowledge and confidence. We aim at the students having the principle to be integrated with industry and and others with a strong social aspect.
Our vision is to become a department to transform science and technology for the benefit of humanity and our country, provide a top-level research and educational environment through which the students are equipped with contemporary knowledge and trained so that they have the qualifications of research methodology and ability along with the leadership to compete in the international arena by supporting the national and universal values.
Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded an Master's Degree in Wood Products Industrial Engineering.

It is a programme that provides graduate education at Second Cycle level.
[] Admission Requirements
• To hold an undergraduate diploma.
• To have a grade of at least 55 in ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam), 450 in GMAT, which is an internationally accredited exam or 610 in the “quantitative” part of GRE exam.
• To meet the requirements determined by the head of department and to have taken the language proficiency exam given by the Institute, unless the candidate has a certificate of KPDS/UDS or any other exam accredited by YOK (Turkish Higher Education Institution).
• To be successful in the interview/ aptitude test.
• To have a reference letter, a statement of purpose showing thereas on for applying for the graduate program and competence in written and oral Turkish and/or foreign language skills.
• Exchange student applications are to be done in accordance with the admission requirements of the agreement signed between DuzceUniversity and the partner university.
• Visiting students can take the courses approved by the head of the related department.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
Students studying master's with thesis are required:
• To take 7 courses and enroll in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis, and complete 120 ECTS. To get at least a grade of CB in order to be successful in each course of the program,
• To have 3.00 general average grade out of 4.00 on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis defense.
Students registered in a Master’s program without thesis:
• Are required to take 10 courses and enroll in the Graduation Project Course, and complete 120 ECTS. (The Graduation Project Course do not have local credit and are assessed with a pass or fail).
• Are required to get at least CB grade in order to be successful in a course in their program.
• Are required to have 3.00 general average grades out of 4.00 on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Graduate Project course.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.
Recognition of Education Abroad
DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.
Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.
In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.
At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

The wood products industrial engeneers awarded with the graduate degree of Wood Products Industrial Engineer can be recruited under design, research and development, manufacturing, management sections of privite companies in wood products industry and furniture sector, academic, consultancy establishments such as Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Ministry of Environment and Urbanism, universities, institutes, and other institutions during education and after graduation.
[] The Upper Stage of a Transition
Students who graduated from this program can apply to study at doctoral programs.
The Department of Wood Products Insutrial Engineering is arranged to be at least 7 courses, 21 local credits, and 120 ECTS credits.
The student under the supervision of advisors of the relevant branch of science registers to elective courses, and also completes his/her thesis under the supervision of a faculty member thesis advisor.

[] Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the Master Program in Woodworking Industrial Engineering, the total number of national credits that students must complete is at least 21 credits in total. ECTS credit amount is 60 credits in total. It also consists of a seminar course and thesis work. The seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful.
The training period of the Woodworking Industrial Engineering Master's program is 2 years. During the semester 14 weeks of each course; together with midterm, homework, project etc. evaluation activities and final exams at the end of the semester. In addition, the student is also required to submit a Thesis and an oral presantation for this thesis which will be prepared at the end of a thesis work. In order to qualify for graduation, students must be able to continue with the lessons in the curriculum and be successful at all and have completed all other studies.
