The Department of Electric-Electronics and Computer Engineering (Master’s And Doctor's degree) started the education-training activity in 2013-2014 academic year. Total recorded number of students is about 10 in Master’s degree and about 4 in Doctor’degree. The academic staff consists of 8 academics who have 4 Associate Prof.  and 4 Asst. Prof. academic title.

Our mission by giving postgraduate education is to train engineers (Doctor' degree) who can work about design, production and research-development in industry and public research instutions with success and who are creative, who have systematic approach in problem solving, teamwork skills, sensitive to environment, social, economic and professional ethics and features of leader.

Our vision as Department of Electric-Electronics and Computer Engineering Doctor’s degree program is to train individuals who generate and emit scientific knowledge based on advancing science and developing technology, who adopt total quality in education, training, research and practice, who are community-qualified, open to development and questioning, who comform to ethics of human rights, who aspire to service of region, country and humanity

Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded an PhD Degree in Electrical-Electronics and Computer Engineering.
[] Earned Level of Qualification
It is a programme that provides graduate education at Third Cycle level.
[] Admission Requirements
It is essential for the candidates of doctora program;

•    To hold a graduate diploma.
•    To have a grade of at least 55 on ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) 450 on GMAT, which is an internationally accredited exam, or 610 on “quantitative” part of GRE exam.
•    To meet the requirements determined by the head of department and to have  taken the language proficiency exam given by the institution unless the candidate has a certificate of KPDS/UDS or any other exams accredited by YOK ( TurkishHigherEducationInstitution )
•    Tohave a grade of at least 70 in ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam).
•    To be successful in the interview/ aptitude test
•    To have a reference letter, a statement of purpose  showing the reason for applying  for the graduate program and competence in written and oral Turkish and/or foreign language skills
•    Exchange student applications are to be done in accordance with the admission requirements of the agreement signed between Duzce University and the partner university.
•    Special students can take the courses approved by the head of the related department.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
Students studying in a Ph.D. program are required,
• To take 7 courses and enroll in the Seminar course, Ph.D. qualifying exam, and Ph.D. thesis, and complete 240 ECTS.
• To get at least a grade of BB in order to be successful in each course of the program,
• To have 3.25 general average grades out of 4.00 on all courses, and are to be successful in the Ph.D. Qualifying Exam, Seminar course Ph.D. thesis defense.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.

Recognition of Education Abroad

DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.

Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.

In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.

At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

1 Ability to access wide and deep information with scientific researches in the field of Engineering, evaluate, interpret and implement the knowledge gained in his/her field of study
2 Ability to complete and implement limited or incomplete data by using the scientific methods.
3 Ability to consolidate engineering problems, develop proper method(s) to solve and apply the innovative solutions to them
4 Ability to gain comprehensive information on modern techniques, methods and their borders which are being applied to engineering
5 Ability to design and apply analytical, modelling and experimental based research, analyze and interpret the faced complex issues during the design and apply process
6 Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and to take responsibility to define approaches for complex situations
7 Gaining high level ability to define the required information and data
8 Aware of new and developing application of profession and ability to analyze and study on those applications
9 Ability to interpret engineering applications social and environmental dimensions and its compliance with the social environment
10 Systematic and clear verbal or written transfer of the process and results of studies at national and international environments
11 Aware of social, scientific and ethical values guarding adequacy at all professional activities and at the stage of data collection, interpretation and announcement

[] Professional Profile of Graduates
Students who postgraduated from this program can work
 - as electrical-electronics engineer, hardware engineer in academic field or R&D departments of private instutions,
- as engineer or manager in the department of  information technology of public or private instutions,
- by doing innovation and inventiveness studies by establishing an individual company with low capital.
[] The Upper Stage of a Transition
Graduates of this program have successfully completed the final educational degree available, hence there is no higher stage program.

Students who enrolled in the courses in the course plans of their Doctor’s programme  and succeeded in those courses, and those who successfully completed the necessary studies included in   Duzce University Postgraduate Teaching, Training and Testing Regulation are considered as postgraduates.
