Duzce University, Institute of
Science to education within the 2010-2011 academic year, fall semester began. At the end of fourth semester students will graduate a
total of 120 ECTS credits. Lectures, practical and elective courses, and
courses are offered for graduate thesis.
Various
industries directly or indirectly related to chemistry, health, environment,
agriculture and food sectors such as management, production, research and
development, chemistry laboratories working in the fields of education and
training and to train graduate degrees in chemistry that could act as an
administrator.
Department of Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry Science literature search on a specific area in one of the branches can be done, apply the laboratory experimental studies of the subject of this research, the laboratory results obtained in a report to assess the offer and scientific research and development institutions, Chemistry Scientist to work to train.
Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded an Master’s Degree in Chemistry.

It is a programme that provides graduate education at Second Cycle level.
[] Admission Requirements
It is essential for the candidates of graduate program:
• To hold an undergraduate diploma.
• To have a grade of at least 55 in ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam), 450 in GMAT, which is an internationally accredited exam or 610 in the “quantitative” part of GRE exam.
• To meet the requirements determined by the head of department and to have taken the language proficiency exam given by the Institute, unless the candidate has a certificate of KPDS/UDS or any other exam accredited by YOK (Turkish Higher Education Institution).
• To be successful in the interview/ aptitude test.
• To have a reference letter, a statement of purpose showing thereas on for applying for the graduate program and competence in written and oral Turkish and/or foreign language skills.
• Exchange student applications are to be done in accordance with the admission requirements of the agreement signed between DuzceUniversity and the partner university.
• Visiting students can take the courses approved by the head of the related department.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
Students studying master's with thesis are required:
• To take 7 courses and enroll in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis, and complete 120 ECTS. To get at least a grade of CB in order to be successful in each course of the program,
• To have 3.00 general average grade out of 4.00 on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Seminar course and Master’s thesis defense.
Students registered in a Master’s program without thesis:
• Are required to take 10 courses and enroll in the Graduation Project Course, and complete 120 ECTS. (The Graduation Project Course do not have local credit and are assessed with a pass or fail).
• Are required to get at least CB grade in order to be successful in a course in their program.
• Are required to have 3.00 general average grades out of 4.00 on the core subjects, and are to be successful in the Graduate Project course.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.
Recognition of Education Abroad
DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.
Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.
In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.
At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

[] Professional Profile of Graduates
Students who graduate with the title of Expert Chemist in pharmaceutical, food, mining, textile, paint, etc. sectors can work as a researcher and expert on quality control. In addition, they find the opportunity to work alongside a variety of positions in sectors such as the responsible managers may also pursue an academic career in universities. Students who complete the program successfully in the field of chemical sciences or other fields that accept students from this area may apply to a doctoral degree.
[] The Upper Stage of a Transition
Students who graduate from this program, in accordance with the rules established, may continue their PhD programs.
Master of science chemistry is designed to be 120 ECTS. Program under the Law on Higher Education and elective courses are to be determined by the University Senate.

[] Graduation Requirements
Gain the degree / program of 120 ECTS credits to complete courses from the graduate courses must be taken and successfully completed these courses. Following the completion stage of course a matter to be determined under the supervision of faculty member thesis advisor should prepare. In addition, the student's thesis is accepted, the successful operation of a jury is required to give an oral assigned.
